My first ROM wouldn’t load. I stared at that black screen for ten minutes. Turns out it was a .bin file.
Not supported by my version.
You get that “my game won’t load” message? Check the file extension first. Then verify your HMCDRetro version actually supports that console.
Try a different ROM. Seriously. Some dumps are just broken.
Controls not working? I once spent an hour blaming my controller. It was the config menu I’d skipped.
Go to Settings > Controller and map it yourself. Also (update) your drivers. Windows loves to break them.
Graphics look stretched or fuzzy? That’s usually the video filter or display mode. Switch from “nearest neighbor” to “bilinear” or try windowed mode.
